Running the latest LittleJohn emu, some of the games seem to run a bit slow.. i notice when i boot up the emu it says my GP32 is at 133mhz. I bought my GP32 from GBAX ('Guaranteed 166mhz'). is there any way to get this emu running at 166, as i cant see an option for it unlike DrMD? Thanks in advance

no, littlejohn runs only with fixed clockspeed, theres no option to change that.
most games run best with frameskip=1 and vsync=on

but the frameskip=1 option causes sometimes an error while a sprite blinks in a game. if the visible frame while you blink is skipped, the sprite seems to be unvisible. but find out for yourself.

Thanks. Does this mean that my GP32 isn't modded to 166mhz then? And is there a way to test whether my GP32 is guaranteed 166?

download DRMD, the megadrive emulator and a rom, change clockspeed on that to 166mhz and see if it will run.

The clockspeed on Littlejohn has nothing to do with your GP32. Its the programming of that individual prog, that limits your GP32 to not go any higher than 133mhz.

Mame has the same "software set" clock speed adjustment if you want to use that instead. :)

but the hacked versions (hacked to run at higher clockspeeds, like 150,160 or 166MHz) are pretty useless, because video and sound aren't synchronized anymore.
so it's "just for fun"

That true, but for some games, setting FS0 and such works well. It's a bit luck-driven affair, though.

Exactly, try putting the game at fs0. Many games suffer no speed loss (works better in Mario 3 for ex). Also, if you didn't know, you can play games in fullscreen which can be nice

EDIT: As GA01 suggested:clockspeed tester (not sure if this is a BLU+ compatable version; may wanna check the readme)

Try running GPEngine at 166MHz. If it crashes then you may have a lower spec GP32. You can also run the clock speed tester but make sure you get the BLU+ version and enjoy the magical music :D.
