mp3 player

Since I'm not a programmer I can only put this down as a wish. I would like to see a better mp3 player than the standard one on the GP32. I'm not too happy with the amount of bass that the mp3 players produces. Next to that it has to show the filenames instead of the ID3 tags (or at least have the option to enable that). The most important part is that it shouldn't crash suddenly wich happened to me twice already in a time that I used the player 5 times. I don't care about the graphics, one that triggers a screensaver after 20 seconds would be nice actually. Anyone joining me with these thoughts and wishes?

If your GP32 is crashing I suggest you put some new batteries in it.

Oh yeah the GP File Manager comes with an MP3 player with an option to change the output style (comes with Rock, Normal, Classical, Club, Dance) which seems to sort out Bass issues.

The battery's were used for about 2 hours so I doubt that would be the problem. A friend of me had the same crash once, pretty weird.

I'll try that File Manager you're talking about. Thanks for the info.

I've installed the GP File Manager but I can't seem to find these output style settings. In fact I can't find anything related to mp3 except for the mp3 directory. The readme doesn't help much either, can anyone help me with this?

Use the joystick during playback to change the output settings.

Unfortunately playback on GPFM is just a tad slower than it should be. This added to the fact that I carry the GP32 around in my pocket and always change the sound settings with the joystick accidentally means that I'm back to the built-in MP3 player for now.

Tried it, and it works now. Still I use the gp32 often as mp3 player so I'm also back to the normal mp3 player because of it's handy hold feature. I really hope a better player will be released someday...

The reason you mp3 player crashes, is that it doesn support mp3 coded with higher bitrate than 128. So if you have an mp3 with a bitrate e.g 192 it can crash or skip that song. I dont know it depends of what that once it crashes (mostly) and once it skips the song.
