if you use gplinux then yes, it is possible, but its very slow.

I read in one of those links, that there is a program called konvertor wich can convert pdf's, I dont know if it can convert protected one's too...

A converted pdf looses much of its readability, so it needs reformating the text by hand, to be a good read on the gp32...

@Mark: Don`t know if that`s the name. But I`m interested.

how do you make a mag on the gp32 cus the second issue of DLWD magazine is coming out and it would be cool to have a gp32 version

A simple way to make a magazine readable on the GP32 would be to do like Parklife did, and stick some JPEG's with an image reader. It does have problems though, like the pages don't go in order, etc.

Or, download Fenix, and stick all the images in a FPG. Then, just make it so when left or right is pressed, go to the next image.

As I said in GPM7, I've thought of doing this a few times, but it takes a hella of a long time to convert. Plus, there's an awful lot of writing in each issue, so it would take up alot of pages.

OK, to start with, converting an existing magazine into readable images is very hard and time consuming. As Mark said they are simply too long and a lot of editing needs to be done to make it easy on the eye (I tried to convert GPM once, it took me afew hours to do the first 3 pages)

I made pintsized using photoshop and it was VERY time consuming, I'm not sure how long it take for Mark to do GPM, but considering you can only get a few medium sized paragraphs on 1 GP32 screen you need to do a lot of art work to prevent it from being samey and boring

If anyone does decide to make a magazine for the GP32 i suggeat the following

1.) Make a programme using Fenix or anothe coding language to view it in. Dalto did it for pintsized and it made the whole thing work very nicely

2) Write all the reviews first then once you have written them all just paste them into a few varied premade templates

3.) Make everything short and punchy, it is a lot harder to keep the reader interested when they are havign tofocus at the screen

Any chance of another issue?

...um I'm not sure if this helps, well i've never tried it before with .pdf's but

..google for a printer driver that prints to an image format, the one i used to use at work created .tiff files, (there are plenty that do postscript, but for reason i didn't go that way)

..print the .pdf to image files, the one i used to have made one file per page. You could adjust the resolution and accuracy of the image.

..convert the .tiff or whatever to .jpgs *without* resizing them. using infraview or something,

..load them into one of the gp32 image viewers (or i think there was some comic readers for gp32 at some point?)

Automating this for work was a snap, but we were creating images from websites and there is an (active x?) control for an IE web browser so controling the page and how it loaded and printed was pretty straigh forward. I'm not sure how this is done with adobe acroreader, but i suspect it's possible.

This of course leaves you with big chunky images and zoomed out, you won't be able to read them. scrolling the image at 100% will be required, so naturally the formatting will look a bit pants in places, but you can easily read stuff like this - i used to all the time.

link me a .pdf and i'll give it shot tomorrow while nobody is looking :D

nope, the text is too small to read

about one line of A4 text takes about 2 1/2 lineso n the GP32 screen at a readable level

you can use a viewer that allows you to zoom in and view sections, but it means constantl going back anf forth

and kknd_fc: possibly, but not till by exams are over, i need BBB and ill be fucked if im gonna get that without working my nuts off
