Hey all!
After an earlier post I set myself to test some of the available multi firmwares around.

The last one I tried was Aquafish's, and I ended up in a strange situation:

I can't seem to be able to upload anything over aproximately 300k then it "times out". Using both dark fader's PC-Link and Pacrom (the original firmware's PC-LINK doesn't work but it's stated on the FW's FAQ anyway).

Anyone experienced this before? I've tried it both on my old desktop (W98) and on my laptop (XP) and get exactly the same problem so I suppose it's something with the firmware and/or the pc link software (which is doubtful coz I've tried 2 different ones).

A good alternate option would be a PC link program that wouldn't cause this problem and that would be smaller than 300k so that I can upload a firmware update and get rid of this issue. Would be easier still if I had a card reader which I don't (yet).

Any suggestions?

Cheers

It's not the firmware, this happened to me before, but I can't remember why.
Try using GP-Drive.

get a card reader!!!

the cable is crap reasons why:

uses up battery,
cant make file names any longer then 7 or 8 letters i think,
times out,
SSSLLLOOOWWW.

any one care to add feal free. im sure theres more then that but im abit tiered.

Yeah i thought of the card reader solution immediatly, but I can't buy one right now, well it'll wait if it has to.
As for GP drive I also tried it and didn't seem to work but on the other hand I didn't try that one on the laptop? Maybe? Gonna check it out later.. Coz W98 does have troube with USB devices, and XP is somewhat better dealing with that...
Cheers

wont you have to register your gp32 again cause its on a laptop?

anyway you should get a card reader there around £4 on ebay brand new... i got mine from there and its top notch.

Hmm I never registered my GP32, so that's a really good question, and used it before on both computers.. So I'm kinda not-knowing what you're talking about :p

You need to register to download the freelauncher, not to use PC Link.
You can use your GP32 on whatever PC you like.
I´m also not registered, got my gp32_console used w/Pacroms so i didn´t need tom register.

its a bug in the firmware.
anyways, use gpdrive, it lets you use your gp32 as a mass-storage device :).
