I've implemented 8Khz, 11Khz and 16Khz sound rates, I've just got to work out away of allowing update to the sound when fm registers are updated.

In case your wondering why I have not released ver 2.0, its because of the problem that DaveC found where beta 6 was slightly slower than beta 5. Hopefully I'll fix this problem while implementing the above changes to the sound core.

When its done I'll roll out another beta, and if it gets passed the ever watchfull eye of DaveC, I'll release it as version 2.0.

You talk about my trouble? How much much time, effort, blood, sweat and tears have you donated to this community? My trouble pales in comparison...

Keep up the good work, and good luck with jobhunting, if you haven't allready found one.

Sure, blame the delay all on me :p Just joking. I must have sat there studying FPS counters on the two versions for 40 minutes comparing framerates in different situations (see beta testing can be a little work too). Hey, that is the duty of a beta tester I think, is to test. Glad I could help in some small way :)

Oh and soory to mention this but I think I found another small bug. It has actually been around from the start, I have just got around to remembering it. It seems like the sprite/background priority is off sometimes. You can notice this easily in the Sonic 1 & 2 title screens where the torsos of the characters show over the "ring". They should be behind it. I have seen this a few times in actual games too. Sorry about that Reesy :D

Thanks again for the fantastic emu :)

That was the problem I'd been having. ThanX DaveC for reminding me, in Streets Of Rage 1 and 2 (maybe 3 too?) and in Beyond Oasis, a few things show up over STufF that is meant to obscure them.

In SOR1 and 2, the power ups show up over characters and in Beyond Oasis, the doors show up over the player.

BYEEEEE!!

Sword of Vermillion works fine for me in Beta 5, and I remember it working fine in v1.0 as well. I played about 1 hour into the game with no problems.

Erm, are you sure? I just tried it in version 1.0 and it freezes after the name selection screen, where it shows the picture and text says "Long ago, King Tsarkon..."

The music keeps playing, BTW.

Yeah I think I know why the sprites are wrong now, hopefully I'll be able to fix it without slowing the emulator down much.

Slow down the emulator? Hmmmm. Maybe it is fine the way it is. I could live with a little show-through on a few games more than slower speed on all games :)

I think Street fighter 2 Turbo works, or at least i managed to get in game and fight in it, not sure if it crashes later. Sound isn't 100%.

Megadrive? those are only a few pounds. Certainly you received more donations to get more than that, I would hope. Oh I know, you also got a DS too

I still think you should have gone for an Amiga Ressy. :(
You don`t know what you are missing. :D

I had an Amiga and it was probably the best computer ever. Honestly though the games on the MD were designed better for the most part. Most Amiga games were ST ports. There weren't too many good RPGs like there were on MD.

Nah I'm never going to buy a DS, it just does not appeal to me. The PSP looks good but for me it always about the cost of the games. I'm such I tight git I can't bare the thought of parting with £30 every time I want a new game. I much prefer to buy a mega drive and buy all my favourite games for a couple of quid each.

I have some news about that other M68K core, the author is not ready to release the source so I won't be able to use it in DrMD. The reason is he is currently using the core in some commercial emulators, he is planning on porting his emulators to the GP32 so you should see something from him sooner rather than later. I have no idea if these emulators will be free or not though.

He has offered to lend a hand fixing the problems in the Cyclone core though, so all hope is not lost for DrMD.

P.S Aren't the boards super fast again, lovely jubbly :)
