I'm hoping my donation gets trough..

More of a test really, to see if Moneybookers functions as it should....

Yeah I've received your donation, problem is its going to cost half the donation in order to withdraw it . So its probably going to stay in there for quite some time.

Ah, don'tcha worry, that was more of a test. I'm deffinately gonna cough something more up next week, or the week after

Sorry I didn't mean your donation was small, its just that they charge loads in order to take the money out of the account and as not many people donate via moneybookers it will probably never be worth taking the money out.

I'm very grateful for your donation, its just easier when everybody donates via paypal as it means that it builds up enough to transfer the money to my bank without having to pay anything.

Thanks

Reesy

Somehow, even though Finland is considered forerunner in tech, and the utilization of the 'net, I could not transfer funds to my PP account via bank transaction...

Hum, maybe i could transfer funds from Mb to PP... :)

Quite the hassle.

does any body have the problem where DRMD shuts off on BLU after 2 mins of play

The slow down is due to the stereo switch option. Obviously the extra *if* code is slowing it down. I'll rewrite the code into seperate functions to remove the need for this check on every loop.

Ok sounds good. Honestly if this option can't be done without a FPS hit maybe you could just take it out. The reversed speakers aren't that noticeable when they are so close together anyway so it is not a big deal. Even a 1 FPS hit is probably not worth having it in.

Thanks again for one of the best GP32 emus :)

I've just run some tests and dropping the sound rendering speed from 16Khz to 11Khz gets Castlevania upto 27fps instead of 22/23fps.

So I think I'm going to add some more options to choose the sound rendering speed. The problem is that there are a lot of pre-calculated values in the sound core that are setup for 16Khz, I'm not sure what they are yet as Rob did all of that graft. So at the moment the sound doesn't sound right at different speeds, I'll also have to re-work my DAC emulation but that should be okay.

Won't that make the sound quality not as good though? Will you have a setting so that you can run it as it is now (without the reverse speaker slowdown) with the clearer sound? Or will re-working the DAC emulation make it slower than it is now when set at 16 Khz?

I think the emu is pretty perfect as was in beta 5 as far as a good balance between sound quality and speed. You could always get good framerate with crap sound or perfect sound that works in all games but have crap framerate wich is not as good of a balance. Hopefully the new option won't adversely effect this current balance of good sound and decent framerate.

If I get it working correctly then you will be able to switch the sound rendering speed on the menu, So you can use the 16Khz speed and have the sound quality and fps of beta 5 or switch to 11Khz and have a better fps.

About sound... There seems to be to little of it, volume-wise. Surely the GP speakers can't be expected to deliver that much oomph, but still... Could it be possible to (easily, code-wise) boost the volume, inside the emulation?

I just wan't to annoy other people around me with FM synth. :D

Landstalker doesn't work on DrMD or fGen.. does it use some sort of special hardware or technique that causes this?

And what's the likelihood that it will work in the future?

CYCLONE BUG!!

Not too likely it will run with any emu that uses cyclone, unless the cyclone bugs are found and eliminated.

Apparently there is another ASM M68K core, Somebody ( I won't mention any names in case nothing comes of this ) has emailed me asking for some help on how to port code from Pocket PC to the GP32. He says his M68K core is in good shape and is able to run all Genesis games correctly.

I've this bloke's websites and he's done loads of cool stuff for the pocketpc so he definitely not just pulling my leg. Hopefully he'll stick with it and release something for the GP32.

The problem is I'm not sure if the core is free to use or not, by looking at his websites you can definitely get a license for it but it doesn't mention non-commercial projects. Hopefully its free for non-commercial use, how great would that be. If it is then whooo hoooo, Sensible soccer here we come baby! :).

Well even if its not free, maybe at some point his company will release a genesis emulator for the GP32 and will get our Genesis fix that way. We shall see, just thought I'd have a bit of a gossip about it as its very exciting...well to me anyway ;)

Just sent you some bucks to drsms_reesy "at" yahoo.co.uk.

Thanks Reesy, great work! :D

Reesy: Sorry if I'm coming off as an ass here, but i feel that you've either forgotten or ignored my other PM.. sad.gif

*quotes you an old topic*

Someone asked

Also, Reesy, what counts as development in regards to getting a beta? I want to make some games'n'STufF, but it will probably be quite a few months before anything like that happens, but I want to start making characters/backgrounds/etc for SmashGP as soon as possible.

You replied

As long as your putting something back into the gp32 community I will add you to the beta list....Oh and you have to know what "beta" means. So get those SmashGP characters started wink.gif

I've put back into the community with some smashgp characters so may i have a beta?

My smashgp characters are in the beta testing topic for smashgp characters and I also believe they are somewhere on the gp32x file archive...

Thanks man, check your email.

@onionfrog: Yes your coming off as an ass, so you can just wait for a beta a little longer. Nobody likes a nagging bitch.
