Hi,[br]
[br]
I have just bought a Smartmedia XD card adaptor from psism.com.[br]
[br]
I noticed that 256MB Smartmedia cards apparently don't work with the GP32 because of voltage (5v instead of 3.3v).
[br]XD cards currently go up to 2GB in size and have an operating voltage of 3.3v.
[br]So would this be an effective workaround for the previous 128MB storage limit? :)[br]
[br]
The adaptor should also be easier to remove from the GP32 than regular Smartmedia cards because it has an extended end containing the XD recepticle to grip onto.[br]

I honestly think the key to extra storage is through that EXT port on the bottom of the GP32. It seems a lot more promising that the unpowered USB port has proven.. Is the EXT port powered?

And what exactly is it capable of?

The voltage from the ext. port can power the adapter, but the transfer itself should be through the USB port, which can transfer faster than the ext. port, but can't use the RF adapter or chatboard at the same time.

What for? Just buy a few 128s and youre done. There are no apps that really work on GP32 that need more than 128MB of files. If you want a complete ROM collection handy, just forget about it. You won't be able to play all of them anyway. ;)
