Hi!

I recently got a gp32 blu imported from Korea. I have a question about Dr. MD. I installed it on my gp, and I'm very happy with it, everything works nice and so on. The only thing is that I can't play games with a CPU speed over 160 Mhz. 160 Mhz works well but when I try to play games with 164 Mhz or 166 Mhz it don't work. My question is: does that mean that my gp32 cannot overclock to 164/166 Mhz?

Im sorry if this is a noob question.
See you,
athanatos

Thank you for your answeres! My 2nd question: are there games who need to be played on an gp overclocked to 166Mhz+? I mean are there any genesis games who can'b be played at 160Mhz with full speed?

To be honest it is very hard to tell the difference between games running at 160mhz and 166, it really is just a number. Don't worry about it. Besides frameskip will increase to increase the speed of the emu, so to answer your question -- no games need to run at 166 on DrMD.

Thank you, I'm very happy about that :D ^^b

I have another question, I hope I'm not asking to much. I want to play the original Tetris on my gp. I've got a Tetris rom named Tetris.gb. I have downloaded and installed GPGB. The problem is, when I try to copy the Tetris.gb file to my gp the GP32 Manager says: "invalid extension. only 3 characters are allowed for extension file name: Tetris.gb". So I've renamed the file into 'Tet.gb' but it also doesn't work :(.

Btw, I've tried to download 'GPAdvance (BLU+ Version)'. But I cant extract the file. WinRAR says: 'The archive is unknown or damaged'... :(.

The extension is the thing behind the ., not before ;)
There is a patched version of PC-Link available somewhere that doesn't care about the extension, though I don't know much about that as I use a card reader.

Oh: The Original Tetris was NOT on the GameBoy ;)

Whoops, you're right. I just downloaded it and it seems to be broken.
I'll upload a correct version ASAP.
Thanks!

rename it to tetris.gbc and upload it. now, it's a gameboy color game! magical? no.

Actually most DrMD games run real nice at 144. Remember the higher you overclock the faster your batteries will drain.

Thanks :) !!!!

btw im sorry that i have posted this thread into the general talk section. maybe a mod can move this to "i need help..."

::EDIT::Just realized it's already there.

I have another question. I have downloaded and installed Doom (GPDoomV9.zip). It says: "Operating Systems: Not BLU+ compatible". It works perfect on my blu (does that mean that I don't have a Blu+?), my question: What's the difference between Blu+ and Blu?

I haven't tried that myself, because I don't have a BLU+ (yet).
According to other posts, GPDoom doesn't seem to be compatible on the BLU+

If you have the BLU+, there should be a thick white line on your screen.

Switch DrMD to Samsung LCD and see, if you get the white bar.
If it works fine, you have a normal BLU (congratulations :))
If you have the white bar, you have a BLU+.

Find out more about the BLU+ here.

And if that is so, you should use the regular version of GPadvance, BTW neither version is compatible with GB and GBC roms. FGB32(d) is the latest GB/GBC emulator.

And there are far older versions of tetris :) (nes, old computers like c64, etc).

GP32 Manager sucks for copying over files. If you copy GPDRIVE over with GP32 Manager, you can then stop using GP32 Manager and use GPDRIVE. GPDRIVE makes your GP32 look like a USB hard drive to the computer you plug it into.

Thanks to everyone for your great support! You have helped me a lot :)

I see, that means I've got a normal blu, that seemes to be something to be happy about..

I see, I will try to get GPDRIVE to work then...

Btw I love my gp32. I would have paid the prize (i got it for 215 €) just for a handheld with a genesis emulator (well, I have got a NOMAD, but that's something different :p ). It's definately the best handheld I've ever bought. Most of the emulators are working really good. It's just so awsome to find out new cool stuff. And this site is great. Thank you! Awsome ^^b

Ähmm... with GPDRIVE do you mean 'Slubman Firmware (gpdrive Version)'? If not, where can I download GPDRIVE?

:::EDIT::: I found it, GREAT TOOL :D

You should be able to find it if you do a search of the beta testing board. Doesn't seem to to be up on gp32x.de yet ... Evil Dragon??? ;)

I have a question about 'Golden Axe: Curse of Death Adder'. I have downloaded the file 'http://www.gp32x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,27,346' and BoR. I have installed BoR as its written in the readme file ('borbeta6.fxe' stored in 'GPMM', folder 'bordata' (containing 'paklist.txt' and 'goldenaxe.pak') also stored in the 'GPMM' folder. I have added the information 'goldenaxe.pak=Golden Axe' to the 'paklist.txt' file. When i start BoR it says: 'Select pak file: (B skips, A selects)'. So I pushed the B butten until 'Golden Axe' appears. When I select 'Golden Axe' with the A button it says: 'Screen allocation... Loading font... STOP! PAK open failure! File required: gp:\gpmm\bordata\goldenaxe.pak'. That's all, the game does not load. Im sure that I have stored 'goldenaxe.pak' at 'gp:\gpmm\bordata\goldenaxe.pak' because according to my WindowsXP explorer (I am using gpDrive now :)) 'goldenaxe.pak' is stored at 'G:\GPMM\bordata\goldenaxe.pak'. Please help!

P.s. Im a little bit confused that 'Golden Axe: Curse of Death Adder' is stored at 'Home : GP32 - Games : Games - Freeware : Arcade :' in the download section and not at 'Home : GP32 - Games : Addons : Beats of Rage'. Maybe it's not a BoR mod? I have searched the site (gp32x.de (Home)) for 'Golden Axe' and I found 'Golden Axe: Curse of Death Adder Demo 1 (BoR Mod)'. Im confused,...

Yeah... well... you know not everything's up yet.
Most stuff up has been the stuff I have been using myself - and as I have a card reader, I never used it ;)

But I take suggestions, so here you are :)

Do you have a few empty lines at the end of the paklist.txt?
Maybe he filename and the name in paklist.txt have to be the same case, so check that, too.

Aaah wll, that was just a mistake (I'm just human). I fixed that :)
It IS a BoR mod, and it works on my GP.
