erm ive just flashed the software to my gp32 and everything is working hunky dorey.

its just my windups program is a blank desktop with no icons on it at all.

now ive just gone through cold a cold sweat flashing this. why dont i have any icons?

is their something im doing wrong, has it flashed incorrectly?

You still have to install windups, As the multi_fw only come with a bare version of windup.

Hope this helps, As i do not use windups myself :) .

phhhhew ok panic over.

but ive only had this peiece of kit 4 days.

ohhh btw rainbow islands is a very kool game. i was wondering if it would emulate on the gp32 and if so what emulator?

Aahhh, Rainbow Islands, That brings back memories. :D

Frodo, The C64 emulator plays rainbow islands excellently w/sound here.

SMS, The sega master system emulator also plays rainbow islands excellently w/sound here.

Hope these help and have great times with your GP32.

Oh, If you like rainbow islands, You may like parasol stars the next in the series. GPengine, The PCengine emulator is probably the best emulator to play that on the GP32, Available here.

If your interested :) .

After flashing firmware you still need to install Windups to get the support files (gifs for icons & such), but after installing you can delete the .fxe from the card and it will work fine. If you end up using wind-ups mainly you can also delete freelauncher as it isn't needed then either.

Dont forget the Atari ST versions of Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands and Parasol Stars.

Very good conversions, and in my opinion are the best versions on the GP32

Oooops, Forgot the ST versions  , Just thought GPengine might be easier to use for a newbie. :)

...Implies that it's easier to use GPengine than CaSTaway. I'm not that experienced with CaSTaway but if you think it's hard for newbies to use, you might want to tell Skeezix what's hard to use about it.

Rico, :)

I said i think it might be eaiser to use (Hardware wise), As the GPengine was a console and the ST was a computer, You had no keyboard to worry about and so less options in the emulators to confuse newbies. My answer had no bareing on Skeezix or the author of the GPengines abilities as they are both Excellent programs. :)

It was just my opinion. :)
