Best Pda For Gaming, Best Pda Sites?

I'm looking to pick up an older PDA, but don't know what to chose, what PDA's have the best setup for playing games on, and what pda's can handle NES emulation and maybe some 16-bit. but i would be happy with PCEngine or lower.

I tried to google, but couldn't really find what i was looking for. Any suggestions would be great.

Forgot to add, I'm trying to spend $50 or less :p

The palm M130 would probably serve your purpose, it's also fairly affordable and runs OS 4.1. i havnt been in the PDA scene lately so im not sure about PCengine, but i know this is able to emulate NES. If you want more power, go for a Palm with OS 5.0 or higher. Here's a link:

EDIT - You can't get too far with $50 - you wont get a color screen

I'll sell you my Palm V for $30 which can emulate NES (No color tho)

do you have to play the games with a stylus? I'm looking for something that has something remotely close to a game pad, or at least a little stick or something.

And what about palms with Windows CE, are there good programs for that operating system?

If you're going Palm OS, go with an OS5 or later device if you want to have any emulation going on. For Pocket PC I'm not sure what a good lower end device or specs would be, but an OS5 Pal OS would be a pretty good bet. Paying $50 for a PDA is a very tough sell though.

If you don't want emulation, just older gaming, then an OS<5 device woudl do, but the class of games for those older devices is underwhelming :)

ie: $50 doesn't go very far for PDA's capable of decent gaming, but you might be able to get what was once a good PDA.

I think that the lowest Palm with OS5 is the Palm m500 - but it is B&W and goes for about $200 i think

The m500, m505 were OS4.x devices, and low res to boot. m515 was ther same thing but colour if I remember right (so many devices so few brain cells :) -- the first OS5 device was the T|T (or T|T1 since there is now T|T2, T|T3 and T|T5). The T|T original may be cheaper due to all the children since then, but the budget line was the Zire series. All the OS5 devices are pretty sharp, but probably cost $100 or 150 USD or more used :/ (guess)

Check ebay, mebbe they're cheaper :)

go for a Dell Axim X30 624MHz...
running windows mobile 2003 Second Ed.
64 M of RAM
64 M of ROM
support SD/SDIO (1slot up to 1G)
240*320*64K...
almost perfect GB/GBC/PCE/NES emulation
good SNES/GEN/GBA
lots of games available natively for it

http://www.aximsite.com

but a X30 is about 300$...sorry about that but for 50 bucks you wont have something great
you can stil try on ebay for good auctions

see you

do you like your axim
does it really get full speed with sound snes?
does the battery life get in the way?

can you actually play games with its dpad?

There is ofcourse also the BE-300 by Casio. Only thing is, it's not 100% compatible with everything... (It also his a MIPS processor instead of the usual ARM). You should be able to get decent emulation out of it probably. It has a color screen and a 200MHz proc afaik. (Or was it 166...)

I dont own one but my friend dose and it's fucking awesome.

You get full speed not just with snes but with Gamboy advanced and the controlers arnt as bad as people put them in these gp32 boards. There just trying to give the gp32 another reason to be better  anyways once your into the game the controllers dont matter cause there very good.

What I like about the ppc is that they have released some great commercial games like AOE And Tomb Raider. And the new axim not only has the 624 mhz proccesor but it has 16 mb multimedia graphics card.

About battery the battery life, it is the same as an overclocked gp32 except that you can recharge the 1100 mAh Lithium-Ion Removable, Battery.

And yes the d pad is playable..... Only bummer is that its $ 424 USD. HMMMMMMMM Now thats why the gp32 is so popular :D

Ps. I had a palm m515 And it didnt run on palm os 5. Thats why I sold it and bought myself an xbox live kit. And if all u want is pc engine you can prob find a grey scale palm pilot on ebay for like 30 bucks. See you.............

Another thing I want to add. Are the people in this site fucking crazy? You can buy a zire 71 That takes pictures for that price. And with like quatriple the power and with os 5. I THINK that site should be sued for extortion. Jesus chirst. Oh And stop fucking lying because there is no emulator for the palm v that emulates nes you fucking liar. Trying to rip people off. I had a palm for about 1 year and I check fourms every day and Its impossible to emulate nes on Os4 I hate liars and your one of them.

~30 mhz insnt enough to emulate nes so STFU

i want something i can play games on at work, it just looks better if i have a pda, which is actually work related than my GP32. plus i don't want the GP32 to get stolen, i wouldn't care so much with a cheap pda

linken park does your friend use the touchscreen as a dpad
does he have the x50?
he is using morphgear right

before i want get a new handheld i want to see if an overclocked version of opensnes
i tried to do it
once
and so did washo

no luck
washo got farther than me and it still wouldn't work for him
anyone else want to try
220 or even 256 sounds full speed with sound to me

one more question about the x50
what is it's size in relation to the gp32
smaller i hope
gp32 is huge

Yeh the d-pad works. And he is using morph gear. If you want when you get your pda give me your email adress and Ill send it to you. I got full version :p so you wont have to pay a dime. I cant wait to get my ppc......

Ps. Sorry i read your qustion the wrong way. You do not use the touch screen as d-pad. Theres A buttom mapping feture on the emulator. Who the fuck ever said u used the touch screen. Using the touch screen would be stupid .And theres a d-pad attachment you can buy for the ppc. I think its like 20 bucks but im not sure umm it depends on which ppc u buy. The ppc is way smaller........... U can fit it in ur pocket easily and its very discreat.

wow. that was one of the worst post i have seen in a long time. Oh yeah, swearing is cool because... umm.. wait, it's not. try using intelligent words to describe what you're trying to say instead of swearing, you'll find that people won't think you're a 6th grader (unless you are, which wouldn't suprise me)
