Aka Noid Build 06112004

How many levels are there? I can't get past level 5... *hangs head in shame* :(

By the way, I've posted a review on GP32World. Obviously I haven't played the whole game as that would take forever, but I've put my first impressions there. I may update it later on, if I find someting noteworthy that I haven't seen yet...

Bugs

no powerups appear when you get 3 ball bonus..

The slow ball down bonus only lasts while hitting bricks, if you collect the bonus the ball slows down but upon hitting the ceiling it speeds back up.

Paddle extender only lasts until you get another bonus then it dissapears, for example.. if you got the sticky pad to catch the ball when your paddle is extended it goes back to normal size.

I noticed all of that, but I thought it was supposed to be like that... it's been about 10 years since I last played Arcanoid! :eek:

Basically, you can't have 2 powerups at the same time in the current version.

@Esn
32 round for classic
32 round for tournament
1 BOSS
perhaps 32 round with round pack in the editor part ... :)
I've read your review and I noticed in your bad part "- high scores & save states do not survive resetting of GP32" ... so please read PDF file, inside I wrote you must reboot your gp with reboot options in the first menu. The saves & hiscores dont survive only if you dont use this REBOOT function or format your smc :)
"- no "selector" in level editor, so you can't tell where your cursor is", I will study to add selector in editor part, and to see where is the cursor there's a red square in the tile array ... perhaps i need put a bigger square :huh:

@Shadow of Chaos
It's not some bug, it's same as arcade version.

Thank you very much making this game. Looking forward to trying Akanoid when my GP32 BLu arrives (hopefully this week).

I tried it a little in GeePee32 and it looks like you did a brilliant job of remaking this classic for GP32 :)

I hope you continue making GP32 games, you do great work.

Music would be nice. But remember the original Arkanoid series in the arcade had no background music either during gameplay, only the intro tune.

i think akanoid really needs some background music

i really like the game none the less

I second you on that ;) it would really be a sweet extra ;p
Hummm lol ok let's be crazy & dream about playing the mp3 of my choice while playing Aka ;op by the way it would be cool, but I don't know it's possible to do this... :rolleyes:
