This really seems like an obvious choice for porting over to the GP32. It's a small, simple and open source game. Somebody please create a GP32 version of it. I would forever worship the ground you walk on. :D :D

Well, once you've made a port of SDL_perl and ported the entire 60MB perl interpreter and toolchain over to the GP32, it should only be about a couple weeks of work.

It looks like the N-Gage version was completely rewritten. It would have to be, since FB is done in Perl and neither Perl nor the SDL_Perl bindings are available for GP32 or N-Gage.

Contact the person who did the N-Gage port, see if they would be interested in a GP32 port as well.

I must be the only one in the whole universe who thinks frozen bubble sucks, really really badly, the only games that would be a real crack would be supertux/pingus and I suspect resizing is in order. That and feels a little tingly http://sc2.sourceforge.net/ The Ur-Quan Masters(Star Control 2)

You can also play Puzzle Bobble, a.k.a. Super Bust-A-Move on a GBC or SNES amulator, it`s the same game...

the source of the Ngage port is available...

so is this portable?

Doesn't look like it, unless we port the Series 60 OS to GP32 which would actually be pretty damned useful. I suppose we could strip out the platform specific stuff and handle it, I wouldn't want to.

Er... stripping out platform specific stuff and moving the code over to another platform is exactly what porting means. I've ported some Amiga stuff over to the gp32, so are you saying I needed to port AmigaOS to do it?

Sonic-NKT: the s60 code is in c++, so yes it could be ported fairly easily (so could the original perl code, it would just need much more of a rewrite).

Not really, but the code appears to be so intertwined with the Series 60 API it'd be almost be better to just rewrite the game from scratch, which is what I probably should have said in my post instead of the vague crap I did spit out.

A port of Series 60 would be awfully useful, though, you have to admit. :) Moreso than Linux.

Is Series 60 OS opensource?
i dont think so but if im wrong tell me ;)

Nah, it's not. :) It would still be really awesome to run some of the Series60 software on the GP32, though.

Never used it, and midterms are coming up so I don't have time to check it out. I'll look into it for you later on.

Thanks alot Ravuya :)

Hi!
I'm the author of Fenix-Bubble, and browsing the web, i came here :)
Really Fenix is that simple to port, in fact, there's not even need to recompile (theoretically) anyway i've heard there are a series of limitations imposed by the system, the most important of one is switching to 320x240x8bpp, so we'd have to remake (retouch, really) the graphs, also the keymap has to be changed somewhat, but as the code is made to be easily remaped, that shouldn't be a problem. As I don't have a gp32, i cannot port this myself. Most of the code for the game is written (mostly for single player mode, but also for two player mode) and a guy contacted me not long ago asking for help to continue the project, but i have tried to contact him to ask for progress and he hasn't answered.
Because of studies, i cannot continue the project myself, but if anyone has programming skills, i can help him in finishing the game (really, it's not much code to write, and programming in Fenix is just so simple...)
If there are any volunteers, please contact me at the fenix forums (http://forum.divsite.net)
PS: sorry for not having answered earlier, but i came to this page yesterday.

please someone port frozen bubble (either perl version or the series 60 port ;))
I don't have time myself unfortunately though a port of perl would be nice anyway :)
