I was wondering what the FPS rate of the firstperson Shooters ported to the gamepark are and if its tolerable or so terrible that its like trying to play while driving a gremlin on a gravel road up a mountain. ;)

Thanks,
~Scott

I find it runs really well, I've only tried DOOM II so far, so i can't speak for Heretic et all, but it's superb.

Graphics are set to low, but it still looks OK.

And the main thing is.. IT still plays as good as you remember.

CLASSIC.

yeah you can turn the graphics up but u get a bit of framerate hit, i prefer the speed, and there isn't that much of a visual difference i found.

Are they going to sort out the keyboard issues with the pc ports because you can't save games in doom amoungst other things. I mean is there a short cut which pops up a wind-ups like keyboard that i don't know about?

Also I downloaded monkey island for scummVM (i think thats what its called) and I can't play it because it says "When was..........? - TYPE IN YOUR ANSWER" how?

What do you want for free ??? ... these folks who code no doubt have full time jobs
and do the GP32 stuff as a sideline.

Anyway im sure that Doom supports saving now doesnt it ??? it details it in the readme.txt

It supports saving, but it won't load anything (or at least, mine hasn't) after a hard reset - even though it still recognises the files. If its got as far as the demo, it BSODs (resets for those of you not using the Multi-fw); if it ain't got there yet, it simply freezes on attempting to load. But either way, it ain't good. I'm told its OK if you're loading before a reset, but for me, that kind of defeats the point :p

Doom does save. you just press start go to save and press A or B

He means ScummVM. There's a virtual keyboard - try SELECT+arrows, if not select look in the readme ... I can't remember the exact keys.

And make sure you're using a cracked ver, since its awkward to delete a wrong number. And of course, you've got to carry a manual about with you...

Of course, you should own the non-cracked one... that goes without saying :)
