i currently using 800x600 with all the advanced effects on, but no anti-aliasing (sp.) what the fuck is that anyway?!?

was running at 1024x768 but decided to lose some res in favour of more advanced things added in, must say i prefer it.

i'm currently running a laptop with 3.2g p4 ht, 512 ram, 128mb ati mobility 9600.

edit: originally had 8000x600, d'oh!

Well i havent tried doom 3 yet, Antialiasing is a feature which makes everything looks finer, especially jagged edges.. but at the cost of performance

Today i recieved my new Geforce 6800 ultra and i know this card is gonna rock (or at least it should, at 411 quid price).. i still havent put it in my computer yet! i will probably be running at high res..

ill let you guys know when i buy the game when it comes out over here in 2 days :D

1024x768, medium detail, 2x antialiasing on my Athlon64 3200+, 1GB DDR400, Nvidia FX5900XT. But it's a little jumpy when there's lots of action, I might drop it to 800x600.

Antialiasing makes a huge difference to sharp outlines of things which look jagged and can appear to "jitter". This can be quite distracting as well as ugly. But the difference in speed with no antialiasing is huge :(

Shadow of Chaos: 6800 Ultra, nice! :D Did you have to buy a new power supply to run it?

no it seems to be ok so far, i am running a 350W enermax psu which is pretty high quality. The fan did annoy me on the card at first, but after i installed the drivers and got in windows the fan speed dropped and stayed that way in games.. not the quietest fan but not annoying ( around 34DB )

i just tested 3Dmark 2003 and i got 12,083 points with my mobile XP @ 2.4Ghz.. i havent tried overclocking the vid card yet, i doubt it will go too far.. the clocks are already 425 core & 1.2ghz memory.

Like i said i aint got the game yet so ill let you know.

640x480 in medium detail or 800x600 in low detail

Dual Athlon 2600MP's (Barton 512k), 1GB PC2700, Geforce FX5600 Ultra.

It sucks how slow it runs.... but its still looks good and just as scary in 640x480.

Is this GP32 related?!
No, he is talking about the PC Doom3.

Take other consoles off the front page!

800*600 med detail with bumpmapping turned on. Averages around 72fps but slows if there's loads going on. This is on a p4 3.2 with a radeon 9600xt card and a gig of ram.

Such a power hungry game. I'd have thought I'd get at least 1024x768 with that. Must be the card <_<.

Athlon 2400, 512mb ram, geforce 2 TI (or??) in medium quality and 640x480.. it's playable :]
But multiplayer would be impossible :]

It's like doom1 on a 386SX/386DX *lol*, but nicer ;)

There are loads of tweak guides about to get the most out of the game. I came across one especially for lower end 64mb and 128mb cards. I've got the link at home but I'm at work now (lunchtime). I'll post it later if anyone is interested?

This guide looks like it's the mutts. I don't think I'll need another guide :) but I'll still post the 64/128 card specific link later.
