I have been away from the GP32 Scene for some time and I did a search but found no interesting news on OpenSnes9x.

Does anyone know if there is/will be a new version after 0.2 or if that version is the one we will have to settle for?

well actually that wasn't yoyo that released that 200 mhz version of osnes
but i myself am dieing for an asm core
full speed with sounds snes
its what i bought my gp32 for

dont expect an update soon.
he has a zodiac now, so he wont touch the gp32 too often

he sayd there will be a update soon a while back, he had problems getting it all in 4mb. and i dont think he touches the zodiac very often, it sounded like he dosnt like it anymore

About a month ago (I think) he said he'd release 0.5 "soon", where soon could be read as between 2 days and 2 months down the road. Ok, so 2 days has long been and gone. But we're still a ways from 2 months...

It'd be brill, though, if there were a release pre-end of next week - holidays from my POV...

no yoyofr don't stop osnes9x, and Vimacs said that he had problems getting it all in 4mb, it is wrong.

The thruth is here :

Interview of yoyofr dates from 02/07/2004

"concerning os9xgp, I works always on the emulator, but much less quickly than front. I have more job and less spare time for this...
However emulator progress! The principal brake has the release of the new version is the problem of the limit of the 8Mo of RAM. Approximately the addition of the assembler more quickly to emulate the main frame of the snes nibbled not badly on the free memory and it does not remain enough any more of place to have the transparency in same time.It is too bad because working on the zodiac I realized that in a few games, returned with transparency (that means using the algos origin of snes9x) than is made faster "optimized" of os9xgp :/.
These cases are rare but exist (donkey king country, puzzle bobble...). That's why i make a little release without management of a mode "original snes9x" with transparency, a little as in the preceding port of snes9X by intellecto. "

sorry for my english, if you want translate in the best english !!!!!!!! do it !!!

grincheux

it is my interview of yoyofr, if you don't understand my english i'm sorry for you
but my english is awfull ^^

alors si tu comprend le francais la je pourrais taide loooooooooooool

that was hookas interview probably
and by you saying that you prove vimacs right
he talked about the 8mbs of ram that gp32 has

i wish he would just release an emulator without the tranparencies finished and with the asm core so we could finaly have full speed with sound and then finish transparencies or dynamic load or whatever he's trying to do
transparenties have never gotten in the way with me

i just despretly want the asm core

I don't mind particularily myself he should release it when he wants to, i'll be happy either way...

News from Yoyofr, author of os9xgp, the famous snes emulator.

Hewrote us this :

"Concerning os9xgp, I'm still working on the emulator, but slower than before. I have to use more time for my job and have less spare time for this...
However, the emulator progress! The principal brake to the release of a new version is the problem with the 8Mo of RAM limit. Well, the use of the assembler to emulate quickly the main snes processor give us more free memory but it still does not remain enough of it to have the transparency in same time. It is too bad because, working on the zodiac, I realized that in few games transparency rendering (using the originals algos origin from snes9x) can be faster than the "optimized" one of os9xgp :/.
These cases are rare but exist (donkey kong country, puzzle bobble...). That's why I want to make a little release with the management of an "original snes9x" mode for transparency, a little as in the last port of snes9X by intellecto".
So this release can be in few times, BUT : it can means 2 days or 2 months, depending on my free time :-/"
