Selling Remaining Parts Following 32mb Attempt!

Existing apps will still run. They will not benefit from having more memory though. That requires code changes.

I've got my replacement GP32 on order. You'd better find someone to do the upgrade soon or I might kill that GP32 too! Hmmm, maybe I'd better learn some more surface mount skills first!

The firmware does need flashing. Mr Spiv has a multifirmware with the required changes on his site. Once flashed the GP32 will not work until the memory is changed. So do it last thing before the upgrade.

rite, ok. if this is deffinatly the right chip, call it a fiver inc post an you got yourself a deal! im in the uk so post will only be like 20p or something anyway

I'm pretty sure it the correct chip! But since I broke my GP32 I can't prove it...

To confirm it is an MT48LC16M16A2TG-7E. I have the data sheet if you want it. Brand new in box (& anti-static bag) from Farnell.

E-mail me if you still want the chip and we can sort out payment/addresses etc.

Thanks,

Mark

Sorry I'm keeping the SMC card, since I'm replacing the GP32. A FLU is on order...

Actually I'm considering also keeping the spare chip. Then I can try upgrading the FLU once it arrives! I plan to get a load of old PCBs and practice, practice, practice. +get some LMP solder, tweezers, enamelled wire and a smaller tip! Reckon I can manage it?

Crocomire: If you've decided to buy the chip then I'll still sell it as agreed. I don't like messing people around, for the sake of 3 quid to get another its not worth it! BTW the link to buy them in the UK is:
http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/catalog/viewprod...?prodId=5088719. BTW did you find someone to do the mod for you? I can't find anyone:-( Hence why I'm considering trying again!
