Gpcinema Help

I never used GPCinema before, but since now its out for free i'd figure i'd give it a shot. First of all, just reading the boards, i downloaded Virtual Dub because it seems to be needed.

What do I need to do to get a dvd on a smc? I need software to rip the dvd to my computer? What is the best to use.

Then is there a tutorial somewhere on how to code the video so gpcinema will play it?

thanks.

I just tried to encode a movie by using that tutorial and GPCinema recognizes the movies (showing the correct length, kbit/sec mono/stereo etc), but they will not start when i press 'A'. The demo movie works, though.

Could someone who already encoded such a movie successfully upload his settings for virtualDub?

That tutorial works for me.

video:

bitrate 128-192kbps

codec xvid

framerate about 15 fps

resize 360x240 or what ever the gp32 screen is.

Audio

sampling rate 44100hz

codec mpeg layer 3(mp3)

bitrate steareo 32kbits per second or something like that.

Anyway it works for me.

It seems, it could not load mono files.
Now I encoded them in stereo - exactly like you did and now my GP32 just reboots when I try to launch the movie.

Pleeeease upload your settings to somewhere. :( If you have got no webspace, just say so. ;)

how do you install DIVX 4.1 or whatever into Virtual dub. I downloaded Divx 4.1 from entware, but Virtual dub doesn't recognize it when i go to compress the movie.

The DIVX 4.12 version from entware has a crappy installer, you should get it from somewhere else.
