@Swiss_Cheeseman: Virtua Racing was also released on the MegaDrive. Or is the DSP chip that's inside this card the same chip as in the 32X?

Yep, I loved the Amiga so much I even bought a CDTV and a CD32+SX1 module thinking that this where the Amiga's (in disguise) that would go conquer the world. I even believed for a while that MultiMedia Entertainment Systems (CDTV, CDi) would be the next generation of entertainment!
Wow! Add an Atari Jaguar to that lot and you owned just about all of the least successful consoles in history! :)

Mind you if my parents had let me I would have had a CD32 at launch!

Almost to ashamed to admit it, but I also own a Atari Jaguar, a Sega 32X and a Game.com :(

Hi,

I quite like Genesis (or i should say MEGADRIVE!), there were some very good games, and dare i say it, i think i prefer them to SNES (ok, Super Famicom bollox) games overall.

So my top 2 are Amiga and Megadrive.

It can not be overstated how much the Amiga was loved in it's day, and is still sorely missed today!
(by all of us old enough to remember it at least, which it seems is the majority of people on this forum) :p

Mame-wise i would like to see stuff like Star Force, Wardner, Pleids.

i'd also like to see a modern version of Workbench that runs on x86.
heh, we can but dream! :)

Actually.... someone os making a version of AmigaOS that runs on on x86. Called AROS I think and apparently its coming along nicely...

Also the new Amiga, the A1, is now in production, even though we don't have an OS (apart from Linux) to run on it!

Amiga is not dead - have a look at www.amiga.com (and www.amiga.org).

Cheers

Tempest 2000 is also available for the PC, just FYI. I used to love that game.

What emulator am I looking forward to the most? Any that plays games at full speed with full sound and helps me kill an hour or two of boredom.

DOS?!
you know what games we would have if there was dos?
Wacky wheels
Comander keen
Secret agent man
Wolf 3d
Epic pinball
Silver ball
Raptor
Descent
Blake stone
duke nukem
Major striker
kings quest
battle chess
Tons more....TONS

I don´t think so, we would just have DOS. While this maybe possible, together with VGA and SB support, I don´t think the speed will be up there to play most of the games you mention.

@flack: If I say I also own the Jaguar CD, can I be ashamed then ;) ?

Brother, I wouldn't be ashamed to mention any of the old hardware you/I/we own! The only people that should be ashamed are the people that get so caught up in the "my system rules/your system sucks" that they miss out on some great games, regardless of the hardware platform it's based on.

If someone is thinking about porting a Genesis/Megadrive emu, take a look at this new portable emu (Dos and Windows versions available)
