Hi Tomi,
an ioctl() is processed?
At the moment only the omapfb with OMAPFB_UPDATE_WINDOW ioctl (drivers/video/fbdev/omap2/omapfb/omapfb-ioctl.c) supports update from userspace.
I think the SSD driver could call update() from the omapdss_dsi_ops when it gets TE interrupt. You could have a look at drivers/video/fbdev/omap2/displays-new/panel-dsi-cm.c, which does update but not automatically.
It's possible that this is all that's needed if you want to use omapfb. At the moment omapdrm doesn't support manual updates, so there's more work to be done there.
I think that's perfect for testing the hardware really works fine for the beginning.
However, I guess we need to move to omapdrm over time, as far as I know the SGX has only be compiled to be used with omapdrm, not omapfb, correct?
SGX has been used with both. The omapdrm + SGX combination has done a better job, though. Then again, at the moment mainline omapdrm can't probably be used with SGX, with the large atomic modesetting changes.
