My question now which doesn't seem to be explained is that the [desktop entry] files should be called and where they should be placed. I would guess they're in a appname.desktop format somewhere in the meta folder, but I don't know so I haven't written anything yet. I guess it should be called default.desktop and put in the meta folder and then be zipped up into the metadata.zip store. [[User:levi|levi]] ([[User talk:levi|talk]]) 21:39, 27 April 2021 (UTC) |

I've changed some words on this page. I hope I'm right, although it's not easy for me to confirm this at present. Specificially I've changed the desciption of the terminal option in the desktop entry.
- Fine by me. It's a wiki :P
Also I changed the spelling of the word 'uniq' as part of a 'unique identifier' in the package entry. That leads me to ask, in what scope does this need to be unique; presumably it can't need to be unique compared to stuff not in a dbp, but it's not clear to be whether it needs to only be unique within the scope of this desktop file, or compared to all other dbps.
- The [package entry] is specific to the dbp system (made that clear in the section), so it has to be unique within our community. The repo enforce that (that pretty much the only thing the repo enforce)
And why is there an exec option in the desktop entry and one in the package entry? I wonder if this depends whether you launch it from the desktop menu item or by using the scripts to launch a pnd (normally from the terminal). levi (talk) 14:39, 14 March 2021 (UTC)

Okay, good to hear from you.
My question now which doesn't seem to be explained is that the [desktop entry] files should be called and where they should be placed. I would guess they're in a appname.desktop format somewhere in the meta folder, but I don't know so I haven't written anything yet. levi (talk) 15:08, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
