Hi, I have checked with the latest -rc6 but for me all .dtb compile fine.
Which branch / commit did you try? Maybe it was only temporarily broken (wrong order of checking in some diffs). Or please can you share the error log?
I have the same problem, maybe you forgot to commit some files? branch 3.17-rc6, commit 02766ba0d8fd95af3e30625682f8fed7ff211874
Ok. Yes, that is (was) the latest one.
You should try clean a clone, or at least: # cause a dtb rebuild $ rm arch/arm/boot/dts/*.dtb $ make
That is what I did.
But you are right! Some .dtb files were indeed missing in git (that is what the error log would have shown - therefore it is good practice to report the log).
Well, they were not git committed and git pushed because they were not even git added... My fault.
Now, the missing files should be available (including the latest DSS / R63311 patches).
And, I have added a patch for the TCA6424 driver to allow open-drain output mode (needed to solve http://projects.goldelico.com/p/gta04-kernel/issues/658/ ).
Finally, I have merged linus/v3.17-rc7:
http://git.openpandora.org/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=pyra-kernel.git;a=shortlog;h...
And please look at the audio demos in this kernel tree:
http://git.openpandora.org/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=pyra-kernel.git;a=blob;f=GTA...
Finally some words about the status of this kernel:
a) works (since we have drivers) * ethernet * usb (host) * audio (twl6040 only - no abe/aess) * LG panel (R663311) * touch screen (TSC2007) * LEDs on main board * Nubs on main board * shoulder buttons on main board * keyboard scanner on main board * bmp180 on main board
b) not yet tested * HDMI * eSATA
c) not yet working (drivers need to be fixed) * USB OTG / USB3 (at least not working for me) * extcon for mic presence detector on headset jack * other panels

Tried a build with the patches from this version, and the dtb files built fine. Still had to disable CONFIG_TWL4030_USB, since it wouldn't build as a module... might look into that some other time.
Uploaded my build, including the log, .deb and .dsc:

live well, vagrant

Fine!

Well, this is a minor problem of running a separate defconfig...
You could also compile it into the kernel.
The problem is known but not if the dependency is still needed and what it was originally good for... I think it has something to do with disabling the charger if the OTG interface of a TWL4030/OMAP3 based device is in linear mode. Then it would not be wise to enable charging while the OTG charge pump is running. This what I guess, but I don't really know. But the code looks heavily broken to me...

Looks good to me - as far as I can see. My (self written) tool for inspecting .deb is not prepared to handle the new .xz format so it does show the control file only.
