as notaz reported a slow network speed on his Pyra, I thought I'd try it on my testing Pyra myself.
I booted up our system (Linux -pyra 4.19.0-rc6-letux-lpae-pyra #2 SMP PREEMPT Tue Oct 2 21:06:47 CEST 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux) and connected to my WLAN network via command line.
The WLAN router is about 10m away one floor above me, so it has to go through the floor.
I then downloaded a file via wget from my local nginx server.
The result:
2,4GHz: ~2,43MB/s 5GHz: ~4,8MB/s
Ping times are always around 30 - 40ms
So I can't complain about my unit here. That unit has the full metal plate installed as well :)
So either notaz' unit has some issue there, or he used the preinstalled NetworkManager (which might have some features enabled slowing wifi doen, like powersaving) or the system doesn't like his router for some reason.

Hi Ed, maybe iperf3 can help you with benchmarking. It supports a lot of tunables: https://iperf.fr/iperf-doc.php#tuningtcp
As a start run this on your server (or pyra): iperf3 -s
on the client: iperf3 -c <server_ip> -b 150M
or if you want to use udp: iperf3 -c <server_ip> -b 150M -u
I picked "-b 150M" as I suspect 150Mbit is the theoretical maximum for the Pyra.
On Debian a simple "apt install iperf3" should be enought to install the tool.

So it's very similar, seems like either my Wifi or my server can't handle more. The server is connected to the router with 1GBit Ethernet.
Here's a quick test from the Pyra to the Laptop. Both the laptop and Pyra are connected to the same Wifi access point - and it's slower than the connection between the server and the Pyra / Laptop.
