Hi Andrey,
as far as I know, you changed the nub drivers to behave like a normal X Input device.
Thanks for that :)
Just a quick question, as I'm preparing for the GamesCom: How do I need to setup X to be able to use them as mouse now?
Thanks in advance :)

Hi Michael, I think your best bet is to use old driver for the show, if this doesn't have any direct downsides (as I understand mode switching is manual, which can be viewed as such downside). Currently I don't know the right answer to your question. IIRC somebody from Pandora dev community said that a dedicated input events processing daemon is the way to go, and that there are several implementations of such daemon available.

Hi,
well, if TILER patches are included in the latest kernel, I can't easily go back... but I need the nubs as mouse, as the touchscreens we currently have are not too good :(
How hard would it be to make a quick patch so the current kernel would work with the old nubs mode?

Unfortunately we can't have both drivers, but it is just a matter of merging a different feature branch. I can switch it back tonight and update the 4.8-rc1 tree. Or the 4.7.0 (which is partially a little more stable but has an older apparently more instable WiFi firmware).

Well, "available" is not the same as "available and mature in Debian"...

If someone points me in the right direction (e.g. list a few candidates), I could take a look at what it would take to get what is needed into Debian...
live well, vagrant

This approach should work: 1. Merge-in branch work/hns/input/as5013 into latest letux kernel, 2. Add CONFIG_INPUT_AS5013 to kernel config (=m, but =y should work, too) 3. Remove CONFIG_JOYSTICK_AS5013 from kernel config, or remove /lib/modules/<kernelversion>/drivers/input/joystick/as5013.ko after compilation and installation, so that there's no two modules with same name.

This approach should work:
- Merge-in branch work/hns/input/as5013 into latest letux kernel,
Ah, ok. I did forget that they have different paths in the source tree.
- Add CONFIG_INPUT_AS5013 to kernel config (=m, but =y should work,
too) 3. Remove CONFIG_JOYSTICK_AS5013 from kernel config, or remove /lib/modules/<kernelversion>/drivers/input/joystick/as5013.ko after compilation and installation, so that there's no two modules with same name.
So let's do it by deconfiguring CONFIG_JOYSTICK_AS5013 as default but keeping both drivers in the tree. It is probably easier for to handle for the moment than not forgetting to remove joystick/as5013.ko after each update (which can happen 5 times a day...).
Thanks!
