user visible effect: wakeup from suspend by incoming call works again, did not work anymore for some unknown reason in 4.20.
And wake from aux key should also work.
As this is accepted in mainline, a 5.1 mainline kernel should be sufficient on a gta04a3 for basic phone tasks if you manually calibrate your touchscreen.

hmm, the patch is from 2017. Sounds like something upsreamable Was is rejected or are there other obstacles?

Initially I thought that it fixes a bug, but didn't. So it was sitting around in some private work-in-progress branch.
Yes, could be submitted. The queue of patch sets is getting longer and longer :) The main problem is to have spare time to focus on the discussions...
