Hi, you probably haven't noticed but I have reworked the way the Letux kernel branches are managed.
The biggest change is that longterm/stable branches are now linear and are no longer separate branches but tags into e.g. letux-5.6.y branch.
So what is the new scheme of branches/tags?
linus/master mainline tree v5.6-rc$ Linus tag for release candidate $ in linus/master letux-5.6-rc$ we make real branches out of them so that we can merge our rebased feature branches on top v5.6 last tag given by Linus to declare the end of the -rc phase letux-5.6 last Letux branch at the end of the -rc phase letux-5.6.y a branch to collect future stable updates from Greg which are merged into this branch initially this is a copy of letux-5.6 here we also add Letux bug fixes v5.6.$ tag for stable release $ by Greg letux-5.6.$ a tag within the letux-5.6.y branch to point to the merge of Greg's contributions
You won't notice that difference much in the future except that you can't checkout the branch letux-5.6.$ but git will tell you that you have a detached branch. If you need it to be a branch, just give it a name by "git branch name".
