Is there an advantage or reason to make this a tty driver rather than just a char driver?
Well, gpsd and other daemons might assume they can tcsetattr or a line discipline etc.
Perhaps this should be under drivers/tty if it is a tty driver.
Well, primarily it is a gps driver... And in some bright future there should be specific gps interfaces (like networking or bluetooth).
But there is no drivers/gps and I am not sure if this one should be the first. If you prefer it, it is a simple rename...
