Not sure if running this stuff on an EVM is a good idea, at least some GPIOs differ and hns' u-boot enables all the LEDs (keypad backlight and such, perhaps more?) early which may or may not conflict with something on the EVM.
It hasn't exploded yet :)
Well, it won't but it may break some features which you do not see immediately.
And i think all the important bits are pretty much the same anyway.
Not really. The EVM needs a different setup than the Pyra for the tca6424. Less important is that the Pyra U-Boot tries to program the bq24297. This is simply ignored if it is not installed.
So you should use the evm defconfig on evm and the pyra_lc15 on pyra only.

Interesting, what compiler have you used for this?
gcc (Debian 4.9.2-10) 4.9.2 , from debian jessie, running on the evm.
I am using a self-build cross-gcc 4.9.2.
Been using a 2016.07 u-boot with a custom extlinux/distro config on the evm for quite a while now without any issues. (see doc/README.distro in uboot) _______________________________________________ Kernel mailing list Kernel@pyra-handheld.com http://pyra-handheld.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kernel
