Hi Michael, I think your best bet is to use old driver for the show, if this doesn't have any direct downsides (as I understand mode switching is manual, which can be viewed as such downside). Currently I don't know the right answer to your question. IIRC somebody from Pandora dev community said that a dedicated input events processing daemon is the way to go, and that there are several implementations of such daemon available.
Well, "available" is not the same as "available and mature in Debian"...
If someone points me in the right direction (e.g. list a few candidates), I could take a look at what it would take to get what is needed into Debian...
