FYI.
This is good news since we can be safe that the DSS/OMAP5 mainline support will be optimal.
I am trying to integrate this into my 3.14 work (currently focussed on the GTA04).

Have you done any work on the mainline kernel? Do you have dts changes based on more or less recent mainline?
Not yet. This is on my plan for the next steps. May need some weeks.
Ok, you may find this helpful then:
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tomba/linux.git work/dss-dt-pyra
It's based on v3.14-rc2 + DSS DT branch + USB branch for uevm (for ethernet).
It wasn't as easy as I expected, but it was a good exercise to understand what we are missing for omap5 DSS in the mainline.
Feel free to use any of the patches there however you feel like.
I will continue working on proper omap5 dss support for the mainline in the near future. But for now I need to work on other tasks.
