One thing I only now realized/remembered is that not all SGX versions have 2D HW. And I think there are two different 2D HW cores. The details are fuzzy to me, though.
I have looked into the OMAP3530 TRM and that one only talks about "the SGX subsystem" with 2d/3d capabilities. Which would probably mean a single unit - perhaps with different drivers. So it is questionable if they can be used in parallel.
So since this is confusing, I'd postpone it until we have a better understanding.
