Trying to boot this thing just takes too much effort. That latest u-boot patch did make things slightly more reliable, but I'm beginning to suspect there's a lot more wrong with this one than not having enough power.
I can't even seem to boot the thing with the battery inserted anymore. Once the battery is removed, usb booting works, after about 15 minutes of trying, and even then it's very unreliable. I tried booting it with the lcd cable disconnected, but that didn't help either. It still gets stuck in u-boot most of the time. So it's probably not power related.
I do get a lot of fun error messages:
from u-boot:

When it does work, the screen sometimes ends up with a lot of garbage on it, sometimes causing it to freeze.
I suspect it has to do with the cpu board, it needs to be pushed in really really hard after disassembling the pyra to get it to even work at all.
Enough complaining for now, i'll see if changing the kernel makes a difference, since i'm pretty much only using a patched kernel with the TILER stuff enabled, and haven't tried the latest 4.8 one either.
