Old posts about upgrading firmware problems seem to indicate the possibility that if the GP2x is not using its original skin, then the firmware might not upgrade properly. I don't know if this is fact or fiction.
Question is simple: if we install (any) skin, which after all only changes the visual screens and icons, does this have any implication later for upgrading to newer firmwares reliably (eg if the newer firmware incorporates new features, like 1.4 did)? If it does, how easy is it to revert back to the original skin - or is it best to stay with the (boring) original skin and not change it to one of the many available, which look georgeous? I am a user, not a programmer, so would appreciate your thoughts.
