okay - so you have devoted a portion of your time on this planet to playing a game....you've seen it through, shared the good times and the bad and finally beat the damn thing....only to be let down by a stictched on half ass ending.

I'm thinking specifically here about Knights of the Old Republic II - which was a great game but ruined itself by having a stitched on disappointment of an ending....and yes, i know that the production time was cut short, but still...playing such a well crafted game only to be slapped in the face after how many dozens of hours was painful.

So there is that and i'm sure plenty more...any other grievences out there?

Halo2 made me mad as hell
Yeah, Halo 2's ending was a joke. I just about threw my XBox off my balcony the first time I saw it.

Apparently KOTOR2's ending was altered at the request of Lucasarts, they wanted to give it an "Empire Strikes Back" style ending and lead into a sequel, but they totally butchered it.

I also hated the ending to Farcry Instincts, but the ending to FC:I Evolution was ok. Not great, but ok.

I was very bored by the ending to Half Life 2 actually.

Don't say that, I've just started playing it :(

Legacy of the Wizard

... after months of spelunking and searching, resorting to Game Genie codes for help, my Wife (though we were still dating at the time) beat the dragon while I was sleeping. She didn't even bother to wake me up ...

Ramones concerts, beating tough games... your wife seems cool.

Looking at that website telco posted, it appears I have found the worst ending ever...

I don't want to give any spoilers, but bear in mind that it's intended to set up the episodic content that follows, so as a stand-alone ending it's bound to be a little disappointing.

Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. My god, it sucked - though no SC-game's had a particularly fulfilling ending (so far?).

The MGS2 ending, for all its complexity, was also pretty crap. Kojima tried to cover too many subjects and it ended up being a pile of steaming half-way nonsense.

Tales of Symphonia didn't make any sense at all.

Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit) was an amazing piece of work, but that ending justs didn't work...

Shenmue II. The ending was the best ever, but it isn't once you realize Shenmue III will never happen. :(

Total agreement. Once your character starts to go all super saiyajin or however this is spelled the game is basically doomed.

Planescape: Torment is a great game with a very disappointing ending. I won't spoil anything, but it infuriated me to no end.

Gladius. Oh boy, More than 50 hours just to be told "You've won! Also, you're dead and your homeland has been invaded."!

Atic Atac on the spectrum.

You rush about like a blue-arsed fly for the best part of a lunchbreak, carefully balancing available energy against sustained damage from the relentless hoards of evil. Drained, but brimming with a sense of acheivement you burst out of the final door to a screen that says "CONGRATULATIONT".

No, that is not a typo on my part, it has one word - "CONGRATULATIONT". As if that single word was not injurious enough after your gallant exertion they add insult by not even taking the trouble to make sure it is a real word.
