Hi everyone,

now that everyone has seen our progress over here, I think it's time that everyone who's working on *something* for the Wiz/Caanoo put up screenshots (or camera shots :p) with a short description of their WIP projects. It doesn't have to be a game; it could be an app. First prize would be for all of you to put up dev logs like Peter did. Let's generate some buzz around this forum, it's been stagnating for too long!

Cheers
Kurt

well I wish I could show some nice screenies, but there's nothing new I'm working on at the moment.

I'm trying to get some more effects into audiorace, but everything I've recently tried doesn't satisfy me too much (implemented software sphere mapping, did some vertex color blinking, texture blending) I've also an issue with texture combiners on the Wiz, not allowing to use GL_TEXTURE_ENV_COLOR in GL_INTERPOLATE operations, which drives me crazy! :)

cheers

@crow_riot: Are you planning on releasing AudioRace on FunGP?

I was thinking about a double release, giving it for free on the archive but also put it on FunGP, so that people can buy it if they like to 'donate' some money.

@crow_riot: Mmm, that's an interesting idea. I'm leaning more towards doing something similar to the Apple app store - release a free, "lite" version and a full-on pay version.

Alight, i would be sad if this thread fades into obscurity ... c'mon! Post anything! Even the most mundane image. People doin work is encouraging!

Step by step guide for awesome wip screenshots ... even if your working with code.

1. Turn on your webcam.
2. Grab your desired beverage/refreshment
3. Wear a snarky expression
4. take a screen shot
B) simple

Needs more snarky. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

@torpor: What are you working on in blender? I mean, apart from the red wine :p

It looks like a model biplane kit that's missing a few pieces, and has a few extras.

wow topor you look just like a friend of mine, i can't really find a pic directly, and i don't know if he'd like me putting picture's of him up on some board, so i can't show it but it's like seeing identical twins :)

I'm of the opinion that we all have almost-exact copies of ourselves out there in the Universe, which will implode if we ever - all of us - meet in the same place and time.

Thats why its good to have:

a) wine
B) video games
c) silly things to do at home to prevent us roaming around too much

I tried to explain this to my cat, but I don't actually have one, and the pile of rubbish in the corner doesn't like sardines. Much.

@torpor: Is the Wakebreaker engine fast enough for a Gridwars clone? Are you keeping the models untextured?

Yes, I think so. WakeBreaker may be a demo, but I've been quite happy using it to render 100 objects so far, and sure .. there will be room for optimization. But I wanna get an actual playable demo done with maybe 10 - 50 models, for now anyway ..

These models were contributed in the "Gridwars Clone" thread last year before we got our Pandoras and I've been quite lazy about this project .. but hey, this is a hobby after all .. and the recent 3D Put-put Golf thread inspired me to dig out my code and the blender file and get back into it, for a bit.

Yeah, and as a result of tonights hacking I've decided to add Lua support so that levels and game AI can be easily scripted! :)

My art pipeline is GIMP in its own workspace :p Incidentally, I have become quite skilled at freeware vapourware.

@torpor: What kind of performance are you getting from Lua?

@Alex.: That looks pretty awesome...zombie horror survival game by any chance? Are you using pure SDL or OpenGL for rendering?
