Hm...

1. Bubble Bobble
2. Bubble Bobble
3. Bubble Bobble
4. Bubble Bobble
5. Psychic 5

:D

I didn't manage to play these games at a satisfying speed on my last GP32 with the old GPMame version, but I hope that will change as soon as I get my new GP32 and can try out GPMame 1.2...

1/ space invaders (original) //Portrait
2/ 1942 //Landscape
3/ GORF //Protrait
4/ Pacman //Portrait
5/ Galaxians //Portrait

I take it this poll is top 5 games Mame ON the GP32 ?

Seems that some people are putting some games which they havent even tried using GP32, Bubble Bobble i love but is way too slow at the moment

My top 5...

1) Bombjack

Classic arcade game, runs very well with sound on the GP32

2) Commando

Fraction slow but very very playable

3) Penguin Kun-Wars

Never heard of this game previously, great for a laugh

4) 1942

Classic vertical scrolling shoot em up

5) Breakthru

Terrible conversion on the Speccy/C64 but the arcade original is very good

All 5 games above work well on the GP32.

bubble bobble is still slow even @ 200 MHz

:(

Oh well, I'll have to play the SMS version then, it's the only faithful conversion out there, it seems.

Bubble Bobble on the NES is very good, plus theres a lot of 'hacked' Bubble Bobble games, eg games people have created with different levels etc.

Do a search for 'shitmongers' +bubble bobble (i kid you not) , its the 'shitmongers' hack , weird name i know but the levels arent bad. If you find the right site theres many different versions of it which work on the NES emulator.

You forget the Castaway 'ST' conversion
the sound is good as is the speed and grafix

although the music does seem to loose its grasp of reality every so often

Overall I prefer the grafix of the ST version

i have just "gotten" Super Bubble Bobble for Megadrive .......---> not working :( (only part of intro, no text and bad sound)

my list

1. Elevator action
2. e. soccer
3. silkwom (looks so awsome)
4. Yie air kung fu
5. gyruss

silkworm is slow...but without sound its very playable

I've not been able to try it yet (need to buy another SMC, but they're so bloody expensive for their size :/), but are vector games supported? If so, then Space Duel rules once you get tired of Star Wars :p

Gyruss is playable eh?

damn, maybe I'll have to kick out the $80CDN for a SMC soon.. :)

Gyruss runs nicely under the latest MameGP32 version. I run it at 156 with frameskip <=2.
Must find a #2 pencil and do that overclock mod'.

Oh yeah, SMC's are killer expensive here (don't know why..) -- 3 times the price of CF and SD :/

I'll get something going soon :)

All the GP32's I've had could go to 166 or more, so I'm cool; I'll try getting her going tonight :)

jeff

Dunno about you guys, but playing emus on GP32 is far better than playing them on a PC. I should just go into my basement and fire up Galaga, but I'm too lazy :p

Pacman
Ms. Pacman
Mr Do!
Cosmic Avenger
Lady Bug
Time Pilot
Dig-Dug

Would be in the top if the sound was working correctly:

Zaxxon
Galaxian
Donkey kong
Donkey Kong jr

@ Skeezix

You can get 128 MB SMCs for $20.00 USD at Bananna PC.
