What are your future plans for the pandora?

Hi ED :)

With all the recent talk about the pandora 2 I started wondering what the plans for the current (...and current to be for some time) model of the pandora are.

As I get it, the sales at shop.gp2x.de are pretty low (something between 1-5 a day), the facebook-page is not really getting more likes (maybe some indicator for popularity) and there are still a lot of old preorders to be delivered (I recall something like 1000) - and for them in return full units have to be sold.

So my questions - without intending to put you under pressure - basically are: What are your ideas/plans on advertising the pandora. Any goals beside pure existence of the you want to accomplish? More specialised coding compos? Attracting developers from other OS projects? ...?

Thank you, continue your great work and all the best for the future of this project!

Well, a constant rate of 1 - 5 per day isn't that bad, considering that no advertising or marketing has happened so far.

Also, don't forget that most US Customers probably buy them from Link, and these units count as well :)

Most customers these days seem to come from US - probably because of the unit getting cheaper and cheaper thanks to the EUR issues we've got here....

Anyways, production issues have been resolved end of June, and that's when I started to prepare for marketing.

It wouldn't have made sense doing this before we had a really fast production running, which now is the case.

Besides some upcoming articles in various magazines (mostly in Germany), the biggest event will probably be the GamesCom.

With 200,000 visitors and a booth about 40qm big, we'll surely attract some interested customers :)

As I know that the Pandora is too pricey for some guys, I'm also working on getting CC boards to work, so we can sell these for a lower price (something about 200 - 250 EUR).

And yes, I'd love to do more coding compos, but I just can't do everything myself.

First I want to catch up with work (I used the holidays to reply to over 200 eMails), once that's done, I can start thinking about other ways.

But to be honest, I'm pretty much okay with the current Pandora sales.

They have dropped once the 1GHz units had been announced, so I guess quite a lot of people are lurking to get these... and they will help way better than the normal units to get us the money to deliver the remaining preorders :)
