What About Case Mould?

We already got the update on that. They told MWeston they're shipping parts to him next week.

If they are shipping the parts next week would this mean the case moulds are aready made and they are just working on mass producing the cases?
No, it means the moulds are almost done and they're going to do a test run next week, then send the samples to MWeston.

I'm confused. According to the unofficial blog is says, "MWeston had been advised by the case factory in China that the mould completion date would be October 23rd at worst. Now he’s heard from them again, and believe it or not, they were bearing good news…" and the the good news is that the injected parts will ship to him next week. If this was truly could news than I would assume thats this new outcome is better than the previous one which meaning its better than the mould completion being finished on the 23rd. Or by good news does he mean that they are almost completed even if they are a bit late?

What happens is that when they think they are ready they send us some samples, we email them any issues if we find any, they do any final tweaks.

Those samples should arrive early next week. We are hoping they will be 100% as we have already done a few rounds of tweaking.

good to here, I'm sure you guys have the shipment planned out for the cases for assembly when they start stamping them out.

so then do hey think they are ready and did they send the samples?

sorry for this insistence but for a looooooooong time now (at least 9 months) i have this lurking fear that the cases will never be complete.

Please post photos so we can see how they look. :) After all, all we've seen for a while are rough prints, clear versions, and some renders. Some photos of a near-finished case would be great!

The Factory can't check for issues themself? I mean THEY are the Case-Experts! And I've read here somewhere, they have all parts (board, screen...) to build the complete Pandora for such tests, at least I hope so. Because all this shipping forward and backward around the world is really time-eating.

Do you want us to trust a load of Chinese guys who don't even know what the Pandora is with deciding if the case is ok?

Take your time. Get it right. I plan to have mine for years - I'm still using a Tapwave Zodiac after all.

The case matters just as much as the keypad, screen, nubs, motherboard, battery, etc...

Like everyone else, I'm of course anxious to get mine. Not so much that I'm wanting you to rush/push/skip steps this late in the game. From what I can tell, I'm not alone in this.

Thanks for making sure it's right Craig & Co.!

That could be what the factory uses as criteria for being 'ready.'
