Vice 1.21 (+DTV emulation)
-----------------------------
i wanted to watch some DTV demos on my GP2X and here is;
standart VICE 1.21 and DTV emulation (patch 64)

(2mb dtv flash included)

this may be 'a little' faster (or not) than the Mike Dawson's port..

DOWNLOAD

what is dtv?
official vice2x

bonus:
and here is a patched mmuhack module, can you please test it, if it's any better than the original mmuhack?
download

Nice one, will try it when I get home from work. Thanks and good to see you back. :)

Where can I find DTV demos? I havent used mine much since I first modded the keyboard and serial disk drive ports into it.

I wonder, does this new version eliminate the "skipping" issues by any chance?

I cant try the newest version yet, (still at work)

But in regards to the old version you could eliminate the skipping issue by just overclocking slightly.

Happens pretty much in everything at the official VICE. Try Cypernoid 2 for example.

i tried a few dtv demos from pouet
it seems Noice's "Hello DTV World" worked great
"must see dtv" by style worked but with garbled-graphics
and others needed a NTSC machine

nice .. i never saw DTV demos . something new for me :)
thankyou GnoStiC /TR coders :)

i'll release a usbjoy supported version anyway so i can test this skipping as well..

I tested it and it works quite well (the dtv emulation)
unfortunately the skipping every couple of seconds is still there unless I overclock to 150, perhaps this is a problem with memory card speed?

I did try a couple of dtv demos and am very impressed, nice work. :)

Did you change the menu colours? it seems the dark grey is almost black and makes it hard to read the menu at times.

Can you just confirm -- do you mean your going to add USB joystick support to the vice emulator and will this include support for ports 1 and 2 at the same time.
If so could you also add usb keyboard ??

Theres a big sloppy kiss in it for you if you do

Yes he told me that he'll add 2 different USB Joy configurations;

1) joy1=gp2x joy2=usbjoy1
2) joy1=usbjoy1 joy2=usbjoy2

I only get skips if i underclock to 166mhz. Normally I use it at 200 mhz and no skips with frame skip "0".

Good to hear about the USB joystick support. But we need keyboard support! It's vital! :D
By the way, please make it overclockable less than 250MHz, my GP2X crashes right there.

and while we are making requests the only other thing the emulator needs is for the emulator to pause when your on the menu.
A lot of people prefer Frodo just because of this

Ditto! 243Mhz is my crashingpoint. Would be great to have it adjustable or at least be able to choose 240 for the lesser blessed :)

a wip version:
x64 2007/07/12

1) cpu speed in -+5 mhz steps
if you change cpu speed too fast, it sometimes crashes

2) usb joystick
only one joystick at the moment

3) usb keyboard
code is there but i ran out of batteries before i could test it
disabled at the moment

4) skipping
i did some tweaks to avoid it but it was not good enough.. i'll work on it again tonight..

5) pause emu on prefs menu
i'll work on it tonight

mfk told me the same problem but it works for me.. weird..
can you send me the vice_log.txt file after you try it with joystick connected?

Miika said:
It throws me back to the menu if I have a joystick connected!
