Here we are with another poll again. This will probably be the most important one. When you first hear of a game, you usually hear it accompanied with a name, depending on how that name sounds, what images it conjures up, generally give you a good idea of what it's about. Also, if a name sucks, it just sucks. I found all of the suggested ones that didn't suck and put them here.

So choose wisely! B)

These all suck option. well, some are ok. I liked blood steel and tears and it reminds me of one of my earlier suggestions back a bit but its too long winded. blood over steel or blood and steel or something like that would be more appropriate.

Names are hard to pick, much harder than graphics or plots. I think you should disregard this poll and just pick whichever one you yourself like best.

Silicon Soldiers is too hard to say.
Wired is already Wired Magazine.
Bullet Torque is just the names of two physics engine the game doesn't even use.
Kyber* sounds like a KDE game.
Technocracy is good, but for some reason I voted for Norph. I feel like I'm stupid or something.

These are all terrible.

(sorry, had to say it...)
Honestly dude, I think they're pretty poor. I've been pushing for weeks now and we're yet to get any real standing out of the crowd names. *sigh*

A name by itself doesn't hold any badassness... It is when it is linked with the actual content that people associate badassness to the name, all that matters is if the name fits the feel and is different to be memorable.

So of course all of them will feel terrible till we move on.

Why do you think we have people liking the name tincs more than anything else? it holds very little meaning and in reality is a shitty name, but its the association that makes people think it.

Its also why this poll doesnt hold that much validity.

How would you proceed?

TinCS really isn't associated with anything, I just like it because it's descriptive and it follows the standard set by other stuff like GNU.

Personally i would just say let you choose butterdude, its your baby, you should name it.

Naming by committee is just so messy...

Another good idea for naming is to make a name that's sort of related to the name of the device.

For this I propose "P Shooter"
