System Shock remake in development

I have SS2 but I just can't play a sequel without having finished it's predecessor, and some years ago I started SS, but it had a control system so unnatural for me that at some point I stopped playing... so this remake could be very useful :)

I hated System Shock.  Finite ammo with an infinite supply of enemies, just didn't work for me.  I'd clean out a floor, move to another part of the station, have to come back, oops, everything is respawned and all I've got now is a pipe to crack them with.  It was not fun.  If there had been some way of replenishing battery and bullets at the same rate as the enemies respawned then I may have enjoyed it, but as it was I couldn't finish it. Got maybe 3/4 of the way through before I was dragging along, skulking, progress slowed to almost nothing because I'd have to wait for droids to pass and then sneak passed them.

Started playing SS2, hoping it would be better: early into it you come to a kitchen or something and an alarm goes off, so I'm looking around for the source to shut it off (because I need a bit of peace in order to figure out where I'm supposed to go next) and I get attacked.  Kill the thing, heavy damage, still can't find source of alarm, begin seeking a way out, more enemies; continue, infinite supply of enemies; eventually I die, surrounded by corpses, still never figuring out what I was supposed to do at that point.  I shut it off and didn't look back.

Same story with Resident Evil...

Based on this I feel like if someone brought up Thief Gold, you'd be telling us about how you fought a Guard with your Sword, couldn't understand why Garret sucked at swordfighting, and ragequit.

A usual playthrough that abuses the existence of health and energy recharge stations, leads to having an excess of ammo. That however requires being strategic about using resources, as like Garret you're not a tank and your resources are limited.

As I understand it, Thief is all about sneaking and they designed the game around this entirely, so enemies move intentionally to let you around them within a reasonable time frame. When I was playing System Shock and needed to sneak past a cyborg there were times I was literally waiting minutes for them to pass.

Knowing NightDive, I guess they won't come up with a Linux port again (although it's Unity).
