when you run the game and go back to PCSX's menu, it will display the Sony 'SLES-xxxx' version ID, pick that version on the redump page (IDs displayed on far right).
If, however, it's the US version (SLUS-01120) according to redump's info that particular edition didn't have the LibCrypt protection that an .sbi file overcomes - it used older EDC instead, so it might be a title that is problematic for some other reason?
All the earlier F1 editions definitely work.
EDIT: Just found this old quote about F1 2001, which *might* also pertain to F1 2000 (though all the 199x versions work for sure):
I could not get this one to play other than getting the opening EA sports intro and F1 2000 tittle screen. First PS1 game I have not been able to get ticking for quite some time.
Oh man! I could have bought it from you because I ordered one on amazon but had to canceled it because the crazy seller posted a picture of the psone with the LCD screen but when I asked him to make sure it's the one in the picture he said sorry and said it's just the original one with no screen.

They are really cool systems especially that mini with the original Sony LCD screen. The sound on that sucker was amazing. It is the best screen. Don't get a third party one like INTEC because they just are not as good.
