I followed this guide to get a few firmware apps linked to the desktop:

http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?/topic/53955-guide-putting-firmware-applications-on-the-desktop/

I tried both variations (copy & link) and they worked at first but the icons/links dissappear again.

For example: i copied op_wifi* to the desktop. The icon appeared on the desktop. i clicked on it and it began to establish wifi connection.

Then the icon disappeared. Restarting the pandora didnt bring it back.

Could it be that the file is still there but not visible?

Thanks for any help!

I've no answer for you but I see what you mean - I copied op_wifi to the desktop and it disappears after clicking on it. It's definitely gone too (you can see by opening a terminal and typing 'ls -a Desktop/')

That guide way written over a year ago though - maybe it's not applicable any more?

Icons on your desktop are managed by the PND system. Unknown icon will be deleted on rediscoverer.

On your SD card, create a /pandora/desktop/wifi directory and create a PXML.xml file in this directory with apps definition you need.
