I think it could be fun to share your personal milestones. Mostly since I just finished my PhD thesis and it has been quite a struggle and now the book is finally printed it's a really exhilarating experience, I hope there are more people that achieved personal milestones.

These are my thesis (I don't know the plural) (I photoshopped my name out of the black and pink round things)

Well the achievement absolutely and utterly pales in comparison to what you've done but I like this topic...

Anyway, me and my Dad won the doubles snooker competition at our local club this year and I was given the club trophy to take home. Its a small thing, but I've not really ever won anything so its nice :)

I got a 2160 (out of 2400) on the SAT! I'm also pretty proud of myself for pushing myself to learn C++, though I'm far from done.

aah you are too kind!

Also, what's snooker?
snooker is similar to pool/billiards, played on a bigger, 12" by 6" table. there are 15 red worth 1 point and colours scored 6 single balls of other colours worth between 2 and 7 points. following the break you score by potting a red followed by a colour then a red then a colour, etc, until all the reds are sunk and then you pot the colours in increasing points order. the game is won by the player with the highest score in the end. the greater distances for shots requires more finesse than english and american pool and though on a social level pool is a more popular game, it is not televised in the uk unlike snooker.

have a rather epic video of possibly the finest snooker player of my generation

Wait, is the table flat?

At 2:30ish in that video he bounces off the black one and gets it in the middle of the cluster. If the board is flat, he actually got enough spin on it to roll like that? Wacky.

I concur that he's the finest.

A recent milestone: Learning to work with armature wire, and learning to make plushes with separated, posable fingers.

This is an outdated picture of my current project, which is a lot more complete at this point (all of the outer fabric layers are now in place, as are the head, gloves, and boots - you'll all see him when he's finished).

hey i have an idea...lets all guess what that this is above!

On it, now (in the loosest sense of "Mega Man", here). Wasn't when that picture was taken, though...

I've got a few personal milestones in my life already, although I never really set one ;)

Getting two out of four local TV awards was a nice thing. It showed that others also seemed to like the stuff I did :)

Having opened my own TV production company together with my colleague was a milestone. It's still going strong, and that's great :)

The biggest milestone for me right now will certainly to have a reliable Pandora production in Germany. We'll know if that will be achieved in a few months :)
