Pandoraapps Store Being Filled?

I'll probably fiddle with what it tweets until I'm happy it's about right.

There will be a URL there too once it's live.

Exciting. I didn't put too much stock in the App store at first, but from the pictures I've seen, and how it's been explained, I think it'll be a really vital part of the community. Micropayments for Apps are a good thing that'll hopefully spur on creativity and the longevity of the community.

Maybe. I wouldnt mind pnd.open-pandora.org

anyway Craigix api works was quite cool to see. hopefully it will be helpful for people keeping an eye out for specific new apps or updates to their favorites :D

"Quake (ioQuake) updated." <- ?
You probably mean ioquake3 or ioquake2. There is no ioquake to my knowledge.

If new OpenPandora software is presented on the boards, blogs, etc, the download files are mainly hosted at:
  1. http://dl.openhandhelds.org/
  2. http://apps.openpandora.org/
  3. And occasionally another source

Can someone please explain me:
  • Is there a system/purpose behind this?
  • Are there intersections/redundancies?
  • Centralization to be expected?

http://dl.openhandhelds.org/ is just a basic file storage with history. It's where the GP32 and other files were collectively stored. People are putting stuff here while we wait for ...
http://apps.openpandora.org/ which is expected to be the main repository (or hoped to, by Craigix if not the other members of OPT). It has a lot of advantages over a basic file storage. A lot of stuff currently exists in both.

Any other sources you see would be developers uploading things to their own personal website, usually because they haven't gotten access to either of the other two yet, they're still doing beta testing and the application is expected to change rapidly, or they prefer to keep control of their own application. This isn't expected to be the norm, but is likely to happen.

People have upload rights on the apps.openpandora, some of them just continue to use the old archive for some reason, but most people are using the new one now.

I've sent two requests and am still waiting for upload privileges. Dink isn't going to upload himself, you know. :p
