Right, I use a digital TV card for my console gaming. The colours in the video are often faded etc so I use an s-video cable, which basically makes the quality MUCH better.

This was all fine using a simple XBOX s-video cable. I then ordered one of those fancy s-video cables which allow connection to many different consoles.

I plugged in my Gamecube only to find it didnt work. I could only play the GC using composite. The xbox worked fine on the same cable.

I searched the web, and found out that PAL Gamecubes scandalously do not output in s-video. However, if I have the both the GC and xbox connectors in at the same time, with the GC tunrend on and the Xbox turned off, the quality of colour etc (through composite) from the GC is massively improved, almost to the standard of s-video. If I unpug the xbox connector, the image quality reverts to basic composite (ie-crap).

I am just curious to see if anybody could explain why this should be the case....

Thanks.
