This is a placeholder thread/topic because we all know the inevitable SHIELD 2 will be coming out soon/this year sometime. Anyhoot~ Whether it'd be hardware or software, or anything really to do with the SHIELD 2 (it might be a little late to ask?), what's your (were your) wishlist for the upcoming Android handheld?

Mine would be to keep the current form factor mostly similar and awesome battery life...and maybe even increase the screen size to 5.5 ~ 6.5"?

Afraid shield is just a landscape games player until nvidia can develop a way to use this as a portrait device as well as landscape that would be my first stop as far as improvements go

There has been a rumor that there might be a nvidia tablet gaming form factor along with the shield form. Wouldn't hold my breath on it .

Rumors at the moment are pointing to a July 22nd Shield 2 launch. Which would point to it going on sale at the end of July, exactly 1 year from the Shield 1.

I hope Android L is straight out of the box.
I would put money on it. There's a very large possibility that tegra k1 is going to be the SoC in a google flagship device running android L. If not a phone, then a tablet or next gen android TV device, some of the architecture changes in L seem to specifically target what k1 has to offer.

.I think that one needs the other. No android L, no shield 2.

Based off the certifications it would seem the hardware is finalized, only waiting on software (OS) to be finished. Looking at the android L preview on my nexus 7, we're still a couple months away from a finalized version. I'm thinking Q4.

I wonder why they would release a tablet as Shield though.

Isn't the Tegra Note the tablet series?

Why sucessfully test out a gaming device with proper controls and remove them from the successor...?

Does not compute.
