Does anyone know if Mplayer on the GP2X will support the NuppelVideo container (.nuv files)? I’m just curious because if it does it means I’ll be able to take files directly off my MythTV (mythtv.org) box and play them on myGP2X without any messy transcodeing.

hm i dont know... what i want to know is if it can play .mkv and .ogm....

but i think noone knows yet... exept.. maybe some devs with the devboards :p

Well GP2x uses a modified Mplayer, Mplayer plays next to anything, afaik Myth also uses Mplayer.
So that is most likely a yes.

It's an option when building Mplayer – by default .nuv support doesn’t get put in. Hopefully they did, or at the least will give us the source to their modified Mplayer, which I think they have to given Mplayer’s license (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt)
