I came across this review and thought that would make a pretty slick development platform on the go if you didn't have the cash for a notebook. You might even be able to port Pixen (albeit porting form OSX to Linux) or something like it to do art on the go.

It could play all the games the GP2X does, but it's kinda big for a game handheld. You would look kinda weird lugging it around to play your emulators.

Looks interesting.

Also: I have wanted someone to port Pixen to Linux/BSD for AGES. I think replacing the Cocoa stuff with GTK or QT is a bit beyond my abilities ATM, though. There was apparently a port using Gnustep, but who knows what's happening with that?
