For Arcade games what is meant by vertical and horizontal games? Can someone give me examples of each? and in the mame support forum some members have said to play vetical games on the gp2x Just rotate 90 degrees and use the volume button as fire, Why do you need to do this to play "vertical games"
Horizontal games has the scrolling playfield move horizontally. Vertical games have the movement going vertically. Often arcade games that scroll vertically have the monitor turned 90 degrees so they are taller than they are wide, that's why you might like to turn the gp2x to play them.

In emulation what does frameskip mean? and terms like auto frameskip, frameskip 1, frameskip 2 etc.
By not drawing every frame (skipping the drawing of some frames) the overall speed of the game can be improved because the drawing doesn't have to be done. If the gp2x is not capable of playing a game at some speed, and therefore the gameplay moves too slowly, it can often be improved by skipping frames in that way.

"Auto" frameskip makes sure that the game runs at the right speed. In many cases, it won't have to skip frames, it might even have to slow down to compesate, but in some games, it will have to skip frames for better speed, resulting in less fluid motion.

Not correct.

Vertical games have their monitor mounted in Portrait format.

Galaxians is a vertical mounted game. Scramble was too even though the game scrolls horizontally.

Horizontal games have the screen mounted in horizontal or TV type orientation.
