I personally think this new logo is offensive. It is offensive toward those who work tirelessly in the field of graphic design to only put out the best quality work possible. This, ladies and gentlemen, is atrocious.

Vote. Exercise your democratic RIGHT.

No, but your interests taking half a page up does.

I haven't logged on for ages, but this post actually got me to.

You really think you got a democratic right to anything? Where are you from, Mars? Been living under a rock for the last half century or so?
Your only RIGHT is to have an opinion. The one who owns, the product has the right to put any logo on the item, be it a handheld, a forum, or a porn magazine.
You are of course entitled to your opinion, and under the right to free speech your free to express your opinion in a civilized way. Outside of this, you have NO rights regarding this issue.
I'll just take a wild stab in the dark, your American, aren't you? I'm not going to say every American has the same flaw, but there seam to be something in the upbringing of youth over there that tells them they got rights, not specifying what they are, or including that with rights come responsibilities.

Getting feed up with everywhere i go, having to listen to some stupid person having "rights" without a single thought of what these rights are obligating him or her to as well.
Stop for a second, think, THEN talk / type.

(This post was rephrased 3 times to make sure it actually reflected what i wanted to say, and to make sure that what i typed is within my rights, and responsibilities. Try that with your answer.)
B!

Edit
Oh yeah. What logo are you on about anyway?

The amount of work put in to that post compared to the seriousness of the original post is worrying.

Any way, we can use this.

Your entitled to your misconceived opinion.
As long as you don't claim it to be a right of yours to not have to put up with people like me.
You got the right not to listen, but i certainly have the right to express myself. As do you.
As long as we do so in a civilized manner. Going with personal attacks and alike isn't a right of anyone.

Yes? What about my entitled to your misconceived opinion?
With that being your best argument, i come to the conclusion you really didn't have anything to say?

You can come to the conclusion you like, I just fail to take your arguments seriously when they're poorly written.

Yes you have the right to say whatever you damn well please, but I also have the right to (correctly) accuse you of xenophobic behaviour, as that is exactly what your labelling is. Whether Dcgm is American or not is not the issue here, is it? It's not pertinent to the thread topic, so stop spreading your hate for various cultures.

I'm going to be totally honest here. I usually have a plethora of witty replies to such idiocy, but I think I'm actually speechless for the first time in history. Maybe it's my brain getting fucked by the long dick of Microeconomics, I dunno.

D!

I am going to exercise my God-given, democratic right, purchased with the blood of those who came before us, to laugh my head off at the supreme ignorance shown by Mr. B, and then give a three-letter acronym to express my actions.

LOL

I would also like to take this opportunity to say that the only laws anyone has to obey are the laws of physics.

Ah. So for someone to make a valid point, not only must they be able to make them self understandable in a foreign language, but they have to be linguistically 100% correct. Funny. That would exclude just about everyone, and I'm fairly sure, that would include you as well. For example, should i ignore you due to AmE / BrE expectations?

And, no, the nationality of anyone doesn't have much to do with the thread, aside from the obvious misconception that the thread creator for some reason has a right to demand a change of the logo. A forum is not a democratic society. It's run by a few who posses absolute power, and who have selected a few to help them moderate the forum after there wishes. Starting to chant about your rights to select design elements, is somewhat of target. Going with "i find this new logo repulsive, do you agree" and suggesting other designs is something entirely different. Something i shouldn't have to point out to you.
I'm going to bed. Do by all means respond, I'll get back to you in the morning. That is, if you can muster something that is a valid argument.

Xenophobia is a dislike and/or fear of that which is unknown or different from oneself. - You wouldn't happen to be able to figure out that it actually applies to your comment as well? "Ooooh, he cant write according to my standard, so i dislike him" actually qualifies. Heck, you wanna go there, ANY discontent with anyone could be blamed on xenophobia. It wouldn't be right, just as your accusation above isn't. You could blame me for prejudice, and to that i would even agree. I still think I'm right to be prejudice, due to running in to the same type of statements over and over, from Americans only. But that just might been luck.
Or, you could actually admit that you don't have any real arguments, and drop the topic. Or you could just drop the topic, trying to convince yourself that makes you the better man, while i convince my self you gave up due to lack of real arguments.

B!

B!

No offence, but your definition of Xenophobia is very out there.

Having abnormal fear or hatred of the strange or foreign
Fear or dislike of strangers or the unknown, often used to describe nationalistic political beliefs and movements
Fear of or distaste for people, ideas, or customs thought to be strange or foreign. (I can copy/paste definitions too)

All of the above being exhibited by yourself, with your throwaway remarks about Americans.

I wouldn't say I was being xenophobic by requesting you use English correctly, I just don't like to argue with someone who isn't talking to me on my intellectual level. Looking at your last post though, it seems you've made a real effort this time, well done!

I don't dislike you because of your poor English, I dislike you because you're ignorant. And as dcgm says, if you really haven't worked out that the whole concept of the thread is a joke, you really must seek help.

I believe that every person is endowed with certain un-alienable rights.

These rights are called, "ImgLikeOpera", "Adblock", and "ImgBlock".
They are free forever and irrevocable.

If you don't like a logo, ask your web browser not to show it.
Hell, Konqueror has it built-in...
